In addition to licensing VividLogic IP to customers, VividLogic provides consulting and support services to port, test, deploy and maintain its licensed software on the devices.
Technologies such as Tru2way are very complex and include several protocols such as OCAP, Cable Card, DOCSIS, Closed Captioning, Common Download, EAS messages, IEEE 1394, 5C Content Protection, etc.
VividLogic assists customers in the following ways:
(a) Porting the software to the customers Target Hardware Platform Integrating the software and system testing it
(b)Working with Customer Engineers to integrate customer applications and customer software
(c)Compliance testing the software using the VividLogic head end and VividLogic compliance test tools
(d)Assisting customers with their CableLabs testing and certification process
(e)Providing maintenance and technical support for customer products after deployment |

VividLogic has licensed the latest tru2way Compliance Test Profiles (CTP) from CableLabs. These tests are broadly divided two profiles known as Compliance Test Profiles (CTP) and Acceptance Test Profiles (ATP).
(a) Compliance Test Profiles (CTP) are several thousand automated tests that run over several hours/days and generate a compliance test report. They attempt to validate the OCAP API to make sure the various third party Java applications can be downloaded and run on the STB. These 15,000 plus test cases were developed by visiting engineers to Cable Labs and are administered and managed by Cable Labs.
(b) Acceptance Test Profiles (ATP)on the other hand is a set of test procedures used to validate the Cable Card, DOCSIS, and IEEE 1394, etc.,\ functionality on the STB. These are not automated tests like the CTP but are instead a set of manual and time consuming device configurations and test procedures.
In order to provide CTP and ATP testing, VividLogic has a tru2way compliant Scientific Atlanta Head End with a DNCS 4.x, Cable Modem Termination Systems (CMTS), Power Key, TS Broadcasters, in band and OOB modulators, etc. VividLogic has the OCAP test environment to compliance test and run CTP and ATP at VividLogic prior to submitting the devices for certification.
VividLogic customers will have quick and timely access to a pool of highly skilled engineers trained in Tru2way STB, HDTV, DLNA and IEEE 1394.

CableLabs requires that all tru2way products be verified for tru2way Compliance before they are released. VividLogic offers these compliance test services that include administering tru2way compliance tests and verifying 3rd party tru2way implementations for compliance to the tru2way Specification.
